BATON ROUGE, LA (November 30, 2015)—The Baton Rouge Blues Festival will span an entire weekend in 2016. Mark your calendars for April 9-10 in downtown Baton Rouge. The expansion will be the first time the festival has taken place across two days since 1994.
Festival chairman and Baton Rouge Blues Foundation board member Chris Brooks says, "One of our main goals for the Baton Rouge Blues Festival has been to add significant layers of festival programming each year, from the artists performing to the vendors participating. With this goal in mind, it was a natural decision to expand the festival to two days."
Baton Rouge Blues Foundation president Clarke Gernon says, "This expansion is the culmination of many years of hard work by our all-volunteer committee led by board member Chris Brooks. An extra day of programming will provide more opportunities for Baton Rouge and the world to engage with the great blues artists in our midst as well as see some fine national and international touring performers. With our festival now being a full weekend activity, we at the Foundation have more opportunity than ever to tell the story of Baton Rouge blues and encourage its growth in the future."
The lineup of performers for the festival will be released in early 2016.
