2016 MEDIA CREDENTIALS
Thank you for your interest in covering the Baton Rouge Blues Festival.
To apply for a credentials, please read the guidelines below. Remember this is only a request, and it may not be approved. All requests are subject to approval by the Baton Rouge Blues Festival.
YOU MUST SUBMIT YOUR APPLICATION BY APRIL 1, 2016. We will not review or consider applications received after this date. You will be notified of your application status by April 4, 2016. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.
If your application is approved, you will receive a confirmation, followed by on-site details. Additionally, if you are approved for credentials, you will be required to sign a release of liability and/or a photo release prior to receiving your credentials.
In order to be considered for credentials, you MUST BE ON ASSIGNMENT for a media outlet with Baton Rouge Blues Festival coverage secured. We will contact your editor to confirm your assignment.
PLEASE NOTE: Audio/video recording of any performances or Backstage at the Blues Fest interviews is strictly prohibited unless previously arranged with the festival. Audio recording equipment is strictly prohibited without prior authorization. Authorization for handheld recording devices to conduct interviews should be requested within this application.
RADIO STATIONS: Since recording of the festival is strictly prohibited, audio recording devices are approved on a very limited basis. Please be as specific as possible about your coverage plans and any on-site broadcasting you wish to do.
PRINT AND ONLINE MEDIA
WEB ZINES and BLOGGERS: Limited credentials are available for web zines and bloggers. Please help us by providing detailed information about the website or blog affiliated with your desired credentials.
FREELANCE PRINT MEDIA: All media requesting credentials MUST BE ON ASSIGNMENT with coverage secured.
PHOTOGRAPHERS ON ASSIGNMENT: Any photographer wishing to apply for a photo pass MUST BE ON ASSIGNMENT. We will only allow credential photographers with professional cameras. Point-and-shoot cameras, smart phones, and GoPros will not be permitted in the photo pits, a policy enforced by security and staff. Access into the photo pits will be at the combined discretion of the Baton Rouge Blues Festival and performers.
COLLEGE/WEBSITE PHOTOGRAPHERS: Photo passes for college newspapers and website photographers are extremely limited.
Since recording of the festival is strictly prohibited, video cameras are approved on a very limited basis. Of those approved, video camera use is restricted to the discretion of the Baton Rouge Blues Festival.
